Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Sparrow was born in McComb (Mississippi) on the 2nd of December, 1981. She moved to Kentwood (Louisiana). Britney was the first dancer of her age and won many competitions in gymnastics. However, the most important thing was, Britney loved to sing. At age 8 Britney attempted to audition for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) but was turned down because of her age. This directed her to an off-Broadway musical, "Ruthless", for 2 years as the main character. When she was 11 She tried her hand at The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and it was this time she made it as a mouseketeer alongside many stars of today (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez of *NSYNC and Ryan Gosling). However, her biggest breakthrough was in the late 1990s when she was signed to be a Jive Recording artist. When she released her debut album, "...Baby One More Time" in early 1999, Britney was a worldwide hit, selling 13 million copies of "Baby" and 9 million copies (as as of July 2001) of her sophomore album "Oops !...I Did It Again" which was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears & Jamie Spears, she has a big brother, Bryan Spears & a little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was bound to become an upcoming star at a young age. Britney loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) at the age of was eight. However she was not old enough to be considered a suitable candidate. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister relocated to New York where she starred in several TV ads and in an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", where she was an understudy for Natalie Portman. Her passion for dancing and music took over and two years after that, she was auditioning for an appearance on "Mickey Mouse" again and, this time, won the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
