Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977 in Miami, Florida. American electro house music producer D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his stage name. & music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, a former wrestler was also co-founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. There are two siblings who are sisters Kana who is commonly called Grace due to her middle name Grace, as well as brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with an 1995 B.A. in badminton. After finishing his studies at UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, he attended UC Santa Barbara. degrees, one of which was in feminist studies and the other in sociology. In his college days, he recorded DIY recordings and held underground events from his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. As a concert venue, the place was named The Pickle Patch. He was active in student activism and founded a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. By his early 20s, he was establishing his own record label that he named Dim Mak-a reference to his hero from his childhood, Bruce Lee. He came out with I'm IN THE HOUSE in the year 2000, a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq alter ego of will.i.am. The track hit the top spot at No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in its debut week. It ranked in the top 5 on both the U.K. Indie Chart & U.K. Dance Chart. The song was featured in an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore. It also appeared in Piranha, the feature film Piranha, and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he as well as Rivers Cuomo had just worked on a single. He was named the top-grossing North American dancer by Pollstar in 2012. His collaborations include artists such as Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici and Fall Out Boy. He is known for his remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi
