She was married to Krista Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a homemaker, as well as Jeffrey Charles Stone (CEO of a firm that contracts and was its founder and chief executive officer). She is of Swedish and British Isles heritage. Stone began her acting career as a child at Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. There she performed her first stage performance in "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame. Stone was a part of numerous productions in her early teens. At 15 years old, she decided that she wanted to make acting her profession. The official story is that she made an PowerPoint presentation, backed by Madonna's "Hollywood" and titled "Project Hollywood", in attempt to persuade her parents to allow her to quit school and relocate to Los Angeles. After the presentation was accepted, she and her mother relocated to LA. She continued her education at home, while auditioning. Her TV debut was when she was chosen to play Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show In Search of the Partridge Family (2004). This resulted in a number of small TV roles over the years. After a string of successes in the role, her appearance as Olive in Easy A (2010) was her debut in a film. She attended Xavier College Preparatory, Phoenix, Arizona. While she is famous as a redhead her actual hair color is blonde. Judd Apatow was the one who suggested she change her natural hair color for Superbad (2007). The movie was so well received that she chose to keep her hair. She persuaded her parents to allow her to move to Hollywood at the age of 15 by presenting a PowerPoint presentation with the title, Project Hollywood. She started acting at 11 years old and was a part of Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. Here, she starred on over 16 stages. She also performed with the comedy improv troupe of the theatre.
