Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush, an American pop-punk band
was formed in the year 2009. The group is comprised of Kendall Schmidt and
James Maslow and also Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega. They first signed
with Nick Records in 2009. Then, Columbia Records transferred them to their new
label. They appeared on Nickelodeon's television series, Big Time Rush. The
series aired from November 28, 2009 through July 25, 2013. The pilot episode
featured the group's first single for promotion, "Big Time Rush". The
group released three studio albums: BTR in 2010, Elevate 2011 and 24/Seven
2013. In 2014, the group took a break that ran until 2021. They resumed live
performances in the studio, and then released "Call It Like It's What It's
Like". Nickelodeon has signed Big Time Rush to an album deal in 2009,
alongside its TV series, Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon has also teamed up with
Columbia/Epic Label Group for production and original music. The series' first
single, "Big Time Rush", released on November 29, 2009. Officially
announced by Nickelodeon the show was first shown in the U.S. in November 2009
up until the time it was made available worldwide. The song was played in a
trailer for the series for one hour and serves as the show's first tune. Promo
singles, such as "City is Ours", "Any Kind of Guy" and
others were also made available during the course of the series. Big Time Rush
covered "Famous" by Play. The song was first released to iTunes on
June 29th in 2010. Following the premiere of the series the second song,
"Halfway There", was made available on iTunes on April 27 in 2010.
The track quickly became the first to chart on Billboard Hot 100. Due to sales
on digital platforms it climbed to number 93. The second single by Big Time
Rush, "Till You Forget About You", was released on the 21st of
September in 2010. The purpose of the release was to announce the release of
their debut album. On October 11, 2010, the album, called BTR released to the
public. The album was released at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold an
initial 67,000 copies.
