Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a member of "Saturday Night Live," before appearing
in such big-screen comedies such as 'Elf"Anchorman," and 'Talladega
Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine in 1967. He started his comedic career
as a part of the Los Angeles-based group The Groundlings. He was a Saturday
Night Live cast member for seven years , and he became a huge comedic draw with
off-color shows, such as Old School 2003 and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron
Burgundy 2004. Ferrell was a co-founder of Funny or Die, a well-known website
that streams videos. He also enjoyed the success of voice-over actors in
animated films like Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was born on the 16th
of July, 1967, in Irvine, California. The youngest son of Righteous Brothers
keyboardist Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell, Will was--by his own
admission--hardly the class clown while a student at University High School. He
was calm and quiet, but he chose to be a football player with a record at the
school for the most field goals made. Even in the more comfortable living space
of his suburban residence, Ferrell displayed little of the outrageous, humorous
expressions that would later to define his career. In an interview with Esquire
his mother stated Ferrell was "very even-tempered, very easygoing."
"You do you remember those tiny Matchbox automobiles?" Will would be
completely happy if he lined up all his Matchbox cars all by himself. You could
say, "You want to go to Disneyland today?" and he'd have to think about
the idea. Ferrell was not a straight guy. A glimpse of his comedic abilities
was evident each day in high school, when he would disguise his voice to
announce the school's daily events on the PA system. Ferrell graduated in 1986,
and enrolled at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There he
joined Delta Tau fraternity to pursue the degree of a sports reporter.
