Danielle Riley Keough. Her birthplace was in Santa Monica to Danny Keough and
Lisa Marie Presley. She is the grandchild of Elvis Presley, actress, and
singer. Keough was raised in Hawaii by her father and in Los Angeles by her
mother. She also lived in California as well as Tennessee with her mother. At
the age of 15, Keough began modelling. She was in Dolce & Gabbana's
fashion shows as well as at Christian Dior's shows, and on Vogue's cover. Her
first feature film appearance came at 20 years old when she was cast in a
supporting part in the film Marie Currie in The Runaways (2010). She then
starred in the thriller independent film The Good Doctor (2011) followed by the
horror movie Jack & Diane (2012) prior to being assigned a minor role
in Steven Soderbergh's comedy Magic Mike (2012). After appearing in Yellow and
Kiss of the Damned in 2012, Keough was cast in the big-budget action film Mad
Max: Fury Road (2015). In 2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as a law
student-turned-escort in the first season of the anthology series The
Girlfriend Experience, executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009
film of the same name. The show received a lot of praise from critics for her
performance and was awarded an Golden Globe Award nomination for Best
Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for
Television. Her subsequent performance as a shrewd young woman in the drama
American Honey (2017) earned more praise and an Independent Spirit Award
nomination for Best Supporting Female. Keough was the main character in the
apocalyptic horror flick It Comes at Night (2017). Keough then reunited
Soderbergh to appear as Logan Lucky, a heist movie. In the year 2018, she was a
star in several thrillers and horror films, including Lars von Trier's The
House That Jack Built and the Neo-Noir Under the Silver Lake and Hold the Dark.
In the year 2019, Keough starred as the lead in the psychological horror film
The Lodge, followed by an additional leading role in the comedy-drama Zola
(2020). Keough is playing the role of Sandy Harrison in Netflix's 2020 release
of The Devil All the Time.
